2007: "Americans hate their jobs more than ever before in the past 20 years, with fewer than half saying they are satisfied.

The trend is strongest among workers under the age of 25, less than 39 percent of whom are satisfied with their jobs.

Workers age 45 to 54 have the second lowest level of satisfaction (less than 45 percent), according a survey conducted by The Conference Board, a market information company that also puts out the Consumer Confidence Index and the Leading Economic Indicators.

Older people like their jobs more. Nearly half of all workers over 55 are satisfied with their employment situation…"

a survey conducted about a job satisfaction showed about 20% of workers are not happy with their current jobs. Assume that this result is true for the population of all workers. Two workers are selected at random, and it is observed whether or not they are happy with their current jobs. Draw a complete diagram for this problem. Find the probability that in this sample of two workers

i started off by:
A = happy
B = unhappy
subtracting 20 from a 100 = 80?

my tree diagram looked like

P(AA) = (.20)(.20) = .004

P(AB) = (.20)(.80) =0.16

P(BA) = (.80)(.20)=0.16

P(BB) (.80)(.80)=0.64
_____________________
TOTALING TO 1.000

find the probability of
a. both are not happy with their job
64% are unhappy?
b. at least one of them is happy with their job.
16% is happy

is that correct? or what can i fix? thanks for the help my fellow yahooers!!!!!

I work in a big organization for long time now. My manager is "a plain Jane" who is not interested to help in any way on any interpersonal or other issues. Furthermore she plays favorites and she brushes off the ones who are not on her favorites list.
Any time I approached her with any issues I regretted it later since she did nothing about it or turned the tables around and the situation backfired against me.
Now the organization is running the annual employee satisfaction survey. They emphasize thats is totally anonymous and they encourage us to participate.
Since I have nothing good to say about this manager I wonder if this is the right place to bring my concerns and comments.
I don’t want to make it known that I am dissatisfied with the management for the obvious reasons. But I cannot let this go on for ever. Most of my coworkers feel the same but they won’t speak up for fear of loosing the jobs. The organization is good and the pay is excellent but I know with a better manager, one who would care of her employees and not only of herself) the department would thrive.
Is the survey really anonymous and do they appreciate this kind of comments? Shall I tell the truth flat out or shall I sugarcoat it a little?
I don’t want her to loose her job (and definitely I don’t want to loose mine) but nowadays is unbearable to work with her
Any idea is appreciated.
Thank you
