After typing this, I realized that it kind of looked like spam lol, sorry if it does, but it isn’t.

I know the staff being helpful is a must in a shop.
But I just got a part time job working in a Co-Op, and some of the stuff they make you do is ridiculous.
Do you think having a script and being a$$ kissingly kind to everybody is necessary?
Like today I served this lady with my boss supervising, and I didn’t really smile, but I spoke with a normal tone in my voice, I was very polite, I said everything I had to, and I spoke respectfully and she seemed satisfied.
But apparently I had to be really happy and peppy :S..

Is that important to you?
When I go into a shop, as long as the staff aren’t rude, and I get my stuff, I don’t really care tbh.

Also, we went to customer service training, and they showed us this chart of what the most important aspects of a shop is that customers care about, and it was this.

Customer Survey, what are the important things that bring you back to a shop?:

70% – Customer Service

15% – Price Value

15% – Locality

I smell bull$hit..

Do you agree?, is 70% of what takes you back to a shop the customer service?, would you rather me stand there being all happy and peppy?, and as long as that’s the case, you don’t mind travelling miles or spending too much money?

It just seems like a bunch of suits seem to have made this conclusion, because the world cant really be that sad, can it?

You are a new employee at a data recovery company and their tagline is "Your reputation is safe with us!" They treat all data with the strictest confidence UNLESS they find anything on the computer that involves plans for FUTURE criminal activity. So, with that being said, you are recovering data from a new customer’s computer and you find a diary and photos of a detailed murder that was committed by the customer. You do some research and see if this person in the diary is still missing or if the case is closed. Being seriously disturbed by this, you show your boss the photos and tell him the whole story of what happened and ask him what to do. The boss says to you, "What we do is recover his data and give it back to him and send him a bill." You are appalled by this, but the boss strictly says, "Finish the work and stop snooping through the customer’s files, O.K?"

So, out of these OPTIONS, what would you do?
1) Ignore it and just go back to work
2) Quit the company and just not say anything
3) Quit the company and turn the customer into the authorities
4) Ignore what the boss said and turn the customer in anyways

My job revolves around customer satisfaction surveys. A manager here came to me and told me of a certain customer who he knows in unhappy about something that we can’t fix. So the mgr asked me to make a "typo" and not give the right phone number to the calling agency. Since he’s a manager and I’m not, I said ok. But I really don’t like doing this, it’s just just shady and not something I feel right about. Any advice on how to handle this? I could go to my boss with it, but then the mgr will know I "told on" him. I don’t know what to do.

there are 1300 people surveyed on job satisfaction: 750 men & 550 women
Suppose that one of the 1300 employees surveyed is chosen at random:

1. What is the probability that he or she feels that a good relationship with the boss is extremely important?

2. What is the probability that the employee is a female who feels that a good relationship with the boss is extremely important?

3. Given that the chosen employee considers that having a good relationship with the boss is extremely important, what is the probability that this employee is a female?

The importance of emotional satisfaction vs. monetary compensation at work?

Studies and surveys have shown that emotional satisfaction is more important to nearly all employees than is monetary compensation.

So why is it that so many employers still treat their employees like crap??

(My job pays a decent salary and has excellent insurance benefits and TONS of vacation days, but I can’t take it anymore because my boss is mean, abusive, rude, illogical, selfish, and unappreciative. It’s a damn shame that she can’t learn to treat people better, but I just can’t take the emotional abuse anymore.)
