I agree with Monika, but in addition to her comments, I would add the advice to keep your sentences short. Its more snappy and professional that way. Verbosity is not appreciated in a fast track business.

Here are the pros and cons:

Pros
1. Better answers. Employees are more comfortable sharing their opinion when the survey is done by third party survey companies and usually are more honest as compared to having the survey done in-house.
2. Higher response rate. Employees appreciate it when they are assured complete anonymity and confidentiality when answering surveys.
3. Third party survey companies are experts at what they do and usually have better survey gathering tools and techniques compared to in-house.
4. Gathered data are better analyzed and processed when done by third party. When done in-house, the lack of expertise and tools can delay the analysis, processing, interpretation of the data.

Cons
1. Definitely the cost.

You have analyzed it correctly. But there is a built-in drawback with any employee survey. The employees do not believe that their survey is anonymous. So they are not always completely honest. Lack of honesty ruins the whole idea of a survey.

The company might as well do their own survey.

id take it personally
i think he doesnt like you so id do one of two things
1.)tell his boss what he said and that you found it totaly disrespectful especially considering that youve been working here for 5 years and have always been a model employee
2.)ignore him and carry on with your work
good luck

Don't take it personally. He obviously cannot deal with any type of confrontation. This man is so stressed he needs time of to rest. It ended at your feet because you are younger, work days and are less "threatening in appearance, I bet! I congratulate you for not spitting - I would still be foaming at the mouth.

I don't feel that he "accused" you at any point. He simply questioned you the same way he questioned everyone else, and gave you the same reminders about not tampering with the time clock.

I'm just trying to figure out what kind of company still has a time clock that can be tampered with? Generally they are computerized and covered by a glass cover, and even if you could get under the cover to the clock, there would be no way to tamper with it unless you had access to the computer that operates it. In other words - I'm not sure this question is real, I'm wondering if it is a troll?

hell yeah i would. but don't get yourself fired over it, if you can try to let him know you wouldn't do a thing such as that because you've been such a honest and loyal worker over the years. but if you don't think this would be a good idea explaining it to him, then don't. goodluck wish you the best on this situation.
